Position Summary: We are currently seeking a Financial Risk Specialist to join our 2nd line of defence Risk team. This role reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer and plays a crucial part in the integration of credit and financial risk management frameworks, ensuring they are comprehensive and current.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the ongoing maintenance, development, and enhancement of regular reporting processes.
- Prepare detailed risk analyses for relevant stakeholders and committees.
- Present risk data and insights in a clear and impactful manner.
- Interpret data, analyze trends, and communicate findings to drive strategic insights.
- Support the implementation of a robust risk management framework, including regular reviews of policies and procedures.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of Credit Risk portfolio performance to identify potential emerging risks.
- Collaborate with various business units, including IT, to develop and automate tools for Prudential Risk Projects.
- Enhance existing management information and analytical reporting tools to improve our understanding of current trends.
- Strengthen Credit Risk capabilities by integrating new data sources into Credit Risk oversight.
Work Environment: While Ultimate Banking is based in a central location, we support a hybrid working model. Experienced candidates in financial risk management may work remotely, while those with less experience may be required to be in the office a few days a week.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel, including Data, Power Query, Tables & Formatting, and VBA.
- A minimum of 1 year of proven experience in a risk management or data analytics role.
- Experience in generating insightful analyses from complex data sets.
- A bachelor's or master's degree, or equivalent, in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, Economics).
- Some technical knowledge of credit risk and broader prudential risks, along with an understanding of the prudential regulatory framework.
Compensation: This is a full-time, permanent position focused on effective risk management within the organization. The salary offered is competitive and commensurate with experience, with consideration for both junior candidates with analytics experience and more senior candidates with extensive risk management exposure.
