About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Administrative Assistant to join our team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. As an Administrative Assistant - Cancer Support, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality cancer care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinicians, managers, and other stakeholders within the cancer pathway and service users.
  • Provide administrative support to the clinical team, including coordinating clinic appointments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Investigate and respond to complaints and incidents, taking action where necessary and reporting to the line manager.
  • Undertake medical secretarial duties, including collating papers for consultants, formatting clinic letters, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Use electronic patient record systems, databases, and computer packages to initiate and maintain records and generate statistics.
  • Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of care.
Requirements
  • IT qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • GCSE level education.
  • Previous secretarial experience, preferably in a hospital environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
