Hourly Rate: £13.50
We are currently recruiting for an Intervention Support Specialist for one of our SEMH Secondary Schools in the Bolton area. You will work closely with students who have social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, as well as some challenging behavior.
A full driving licence, and access to own car is essential for this role as you may undertake some outreach work.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-to-one support to students who require additional help in the classroom
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans for students with special needs
- Support classroom teachers in managing student behavior and engagement
- Help create a positive learning environment for all students
- Collaborate with other support staff to meet the educational needs of students
- GCSEs in English and Maths
- Relevant experience working with children or young people
- Clear and current DBS check
Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
Key Skills and Knowledge:- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
- Basic knowledge of special educational needs (SEN)
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning
- First Aid certification
- Work primarily in a school setting
- Full-Time hours, temporary position
- Potential for occasional evening or weekend work for school events
- May involve some physical activity such as assisting students with mobility
