Aldwych Consulting is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to lead our team in the London office. As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will have the opportunity to spearhead the development of a brand new team and work closely with our Technical Director to drive project success.

About the Role

  • Lead a team of civil engineers in the design and delivery of complex infrastructure projects, including data centres, industrial and retail developments, highways, drainage, earthworks, and utilities design.
  • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, promoting professional development and growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and excellence in project delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in site development, including transport and civil infrastructure, drainage system design, and ancillary services to support new developments.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Chartered status or equivalent, with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Experience in the design of data centres, retail parks, and distribution/sortation centres is highly desirable.
