Study Skills Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Study Skills Specialist to join our team at Randstad Student Support. As a Study Skills Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing academic support to students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) at universities and colleges in Middlesbrough.
About the Role:This is a hybrid role that requires flexibility to travel to local universities or colleges and offer both in-person and online sessions to meet student preferences. As a Study Skills Specialist, you will be responsible for providing learning support and academic guidance to students, including creating individual learning plans tailored to their needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement individual learning plans to support students with SpLDs
- Provide academic guidance and support to students, including strategies for organization, time management, and research skills
- Build on students' strengths and learning strategies to promote independence and confidence
- Support students in creating action plans to stay on track with their studies
- Collaborate with students to develop research skills, including identifying and using credible sources
- Assist students in building comprehension skills in reading and writing
To be successful in this role, you must hold membership with one of the following professional bodies: British Dyslexia Association (BDA), Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE), Dyslexia Guild, or The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS). You should also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to identify ways to help students build on their learning strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship.
