Job Title: Dock Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Dock Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Babcock International. As a key member of our Engineering Team, you will be responsible for delivering designs for infrastructure upgrades on the Devonport site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the generation of 3D models, 2D CAD drawings, and BOMs.
  • Update and provide information to support updating extant documents.
  • Convert existing design records into 3D models.
  • Maintain and update project registers of technical queries, change requests, and design review actions.
  • Determine durations for design tasks to support the principal engineer and project manager.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of engineering works, including mechanical handling and mechanical or electrical systems/services.
  • Experience of mechanical design, including new or modification to structures and systems.
  • The ability to follow a nuclear safety led engineering process and maintain accurate records and document/drawing revision control.
  • Effective report writing and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or similar software to oversee and support production of models and drawings of mechanical components with electrical harnesses.
  • Demonstrable communication skills and the ability to host and participate in design meetings across Microsoft teams.
