Teaching Assistant - Special Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to provide one-to-one support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a special needs school in Leeds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to the pupil, including those with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, or MLD.
  • Assist the pupil during lessons, ensuring they engage with their learning and make progress.
  • Work closely with Class Teachers to implement strategies tailored to the pupil's needs and learning styles.
  • Manage challenging behavior in a positive and proactive manner.
  • Prepare resources for learning activities and lessons.
  • Supervise pupils during break times and lunchtimes.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with Class Teachers, parents, and external agencies.
Requirements:
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS.
  • Ideal candidate possesses a recognized Childcare-based qualification, though this is not essential.
  • Demonstrates experience in supporting pupils in a school setting, particularly with one-to-one support.
  • Exhibits a resilient, proactive, and positive approach.
  • Shows high levels of enthusiasm, energy, and a genuine passion for helping pupils achieve their potential.
  • Possesses excellent relationship-building skills and a hands-on approach to supporting pupils in their learning.
