Founded in 1987 by a dedicated group of foster caregivers, ISP Fostering has established itself as the UK's pioneering independent foster care agency. With over three decades of expertise in fostering, we continue to thrive.
The founding members recognized the unique needs of looked-after children, particularly those with challenging backgrounds, and prioritized specialized support from the outset. This child-centered approach has been the cornerstone of our philosophy, ensuring that children receive comprehensive support services.
Over the years, our support network has expanded to include a diverse array of professionals, such as social workers, fostering advisors, educators, and therapists. These experts collaborate with foster parents and the children in their care, equipping them to navigate even the most complex situations. This methodology, known as a 'therapeutic approach' to fostering, is a hallmark of our organization.
ISP is currently in search of a qualified and seasoned Social Worker to join our integrated team, dedicated to enhancing the quality of foster care practices across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Recognized qualification in Social Work or equivalent from Social Care England
- Prior experience in children and families social work
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and publications related to children's services
- Valid driving license with unrestricted access to a personal vehicle
Key Responsibilities:
This role offers a dynamic and multifaceted experience in social work, with responsibilities including:
- Supervision of Independent Social Workers, including Form F Assessors and Panel Members
- Organizing and conducting annual reviews
- Quality assurance processes
- Delivery of training courses for Skills to Foster
- Management of safeguarding concerns and complaints
- Participation in carer recruitment initiatives
This position is diverse, allowing social workers to enhance and expand their skill set across various aspects of fostering.
To be eligible: Candidates must be experienced, registered Social Workers within the fostering sector and possess experience collaborating with foster caregivers as professional partners in a multidisciplinary environment.
Additional Information: The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which will be covered by ISP. ISP is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and expects all staff to share this commitment.
