Overview of the Role

Leigh Academy Tonbridge is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated and enthusiastic Facilities Assistant to enhance our supportive team. This role is pivotal in assisting the broader Estates Team with the upkeep of the academy's facilities, which includes a variety of maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, refurbishment projects, and porterage duties. The Facilities Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Facilities Manager to ensure the health, safety, and security of our vibrant academy environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Assist with general maintenance and minor repair tasks.
  • Support the Facilities Manager in maintaining safety and security protocols.
  • Adapt to varying work hours and responsibilities as needed.
  • Cover for team members during their absence when required.
Candidate Profile

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Trustworthy and reliable.
  • Hardworking and physically fit.
  • Conscientious and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Possessing good DIY skills and a basic understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Competent in basic IT skills and knowledgeable about safeguarding practices.

Working Hours

This position is permanent and ideal candidates should be available to work part-time, Monday to Friday. The salary for this role is £9,822 per annum, which is equivalent to £22,714 for full-time work.

Shift Pattern

The expected working hours are:

  • Monday to Thursday: 3 PM to 6 PM
  • Friday: 2 PM to 6 PM
