About the Role

Nova Systems is a global engineering services and technology solutions company seeking a highly skilled Systems Integration Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Mission Solutions design team, you will play a critical role in equipping rotorcraft and aircraft for special missions that keep people safe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of system integration activities and associated design artefacts within the Nova Design Organisation (DOA).
  • Oversee the effective leadership of the system integration team to meet business and regulatory requirements.
  • Take ownership of system integration design aspects of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with airworthiness requirements and customer specifications.
  • Compile system architectures, test plans, test reports, and compliance documents to a high level of technical accuracy.
  • Deliver all artefacts associated with system integration activities, meeting quality, cost, and time budgets.
  • Contribute to Compliance Verification activities and act as a checker and CVE within the design team, as delegated.
  • Oversee the selection of materials, products, and processes for systems under design, monitoring industry trends for innovative introductions.
  • Ensure derived systems meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Lead the creation and delivery of schemes and concepts for customer presentations, assessing system design assurance levels, risk profiles, and failure modes.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including Nova Systems internal design stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and sub-contractors.
  • Manage professional development and set an example for others within the business.

Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship and hold a NATO Passport.
  • Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD 2D CAD and SolidWorks 3D CAD Software) and MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of applicable EASA law, regulation, and design codes (Part 21, CS 23, CS 25, CS 27, CS 29 & AMC-20).
  • Strong knowledge of integration, down-selection, and test and evaluation of software/firmware-driven systems.
  • Knowledge of aviation protocols and standards (DO-178, DO-254, ARINC 664 databus, EWIS, MIL-STD-1553 databus, Ethernet, RS422, RS232, video distribution & formats, etc.).
  • Academic qualification(s) sufficient to support the execution of the role.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and manage relationships and teams.
  • Self-starter with a drive and intellectual curiosity to continuously improve and develop professionally.

Desirable Skills

  • Current or previous Checker/CVE in appropriate disciplines (Small/Large Rotorcraft and Aeroplanes).
  • Experience working in and around the hangar environment from a design perspective.
  • Practical application of System Integration engineering skills.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
  • Member of relevant institution and Chartered Engineer status (or working towards).
