The Role – Manager of Safety and Regulatory Compliance
In the capacity of the Manager of Safety and Regulatory Compliance, you will assist the General Manager in implementing the Mission Solutions strategy, playing a crucial role in the broader Nova Systems International strategy through effective safety and quality management and leadership. This position involves collaborating with senior technical leaders to expand the scope of approvals necessary to support the strategy, identifying opportunities for improvement in technical processes to enhance efficiency and compliance, and ensuring a cohesive product development approach that aligns with the business's strategic objectives.
You will have developed expertise in the following areas:
- A comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and the capability to provide regulatory guidance to the management team.
- A solid grasp of commercial principles and business considerations, with a proven ability to deliver balanced recommendations and decisions that reconcile commercial needs with regulatory obligations.
The responsibilities of this role encompass:
- Delivering excellence in alignment with Nova Systems' vision and strategy.
- Serving as the primary contact for all HSE Management System activities within Aerospace Integration.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Acting as Form 4 Holder and Competent Person for Compliance Monitoring Management and Safety Management within Aerospace Integration.
- Advancing and maintaining company approvals: EASA Part 21J, UKCAA Part 21G, UKCAA Part 145, ISO 9001, and other customer-specific certifications.
- Overseeing quality policy, compliance monitoring plans, and audit procedures, ensuring they are consistently reviewed and enhanced.
- Conducting compliance investigations as necessary.
- Maintaining, reviewing, and updating the POE, MOE, and the Nova Systems Integrated Management System Manual (IMS) to ensure relevance and currency.
- Leading and driving SMS development and integration activities daily across Aerospace Integration.
- Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure the necessary processes and tools are in place to support the ongoing development and integration of the SMS.
- Coordinating the development of skills, training, and competencies across Nova Systems to further embed the SMS.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance with UK CAA and EASA regulations in accordance with the QMS and SMS.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Acceptable to CAA/EASA as Form 4 post holder.
- Extensive knowledge of civil regulatory requirements related to design, manufacture, and maintenance.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in the aerospace sector, particularly within EASA or UK CAA maintenance, manufacturing, or design organizations.
- Valid UK driver's license.
- Eligibility to work in the UK, with applications accepted only from NATO-country passport holders.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ethics and integrity.
- A flexible, positive, and dedicated team member who upholds high standards.
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with MoD and NATO quality systems, such as EMAR-21.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

The Aerospace Integration and Test (AIT) team, led by Julian Lee, is responsible for the effective leadership and management of aerospace material production and maintenance functions.
