Role Summary - Safety & Compliance Manager
In the capacity of Safety & Compliance Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the General Manager to implement the Mission Solutions strategy, which is integral to the overarching Nova Systems International strategy. This role involves collaborating with senior technical leaders to expand the scope of approvals necessary for strategic support, identifying enhancements in technical processes to boost efficiency and compliance, and ensuring a unified product development strategy that aligns with the company's strategic goals.
Key Competencies Required:
- Comprehensive understanding of regulatory frameworks and the ability to provide guidance to the management team on compliance matters.
- Strong grasp of commercial principles and business imperatives, with a proven track record of delivering balanced recommendations that consider both commercial interests and regulatory obligations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Uphold excellence in alignment with Nova Systems' vision and strategic objectives.
- Serve as the primary contact for all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management System activities within Aerospace Integration.
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety legislation.
- Act as Form 4 Holder and Competent Person for Compliance Monitoring Management and Safety Management within Aerospace Integration.
- Advance and sustain company approvals, including EASA Part 21J, UKCAA Part 21G, UKCAA Part 145, ISO 9001, and other customer-specific certifications.
- Maintain and enhance the quality policy, compliance monitoring plan, and audit procedures, ensuring they are consistently reviewed and improved.
- Conduct compliance investigations as necessary.
- Regularly review and update the Procedures of Operations (POE), Management Operations (MOE), and the Nova Systems Integrated Management System Manual (IMS) to ensure relevance and accuracy.
- Lead and promote Safety Management System (SMS) development and integration activities across Aerospace Integration.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the necessary processes and tools are in place to support the ongoing development and integration of SMS as standard practice.
- Coordinate the development of skills, training, and competencies required across Nova Systems to further enhance and embed the SMS.
- Ensure compliance with UK CAA and EASA regulations in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and SMS.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Acceptance by CAA/EASA as Form 4 post holder.
- In-depth knowledge of civil regulatory requirements related to design, manufacturing, and maintenance.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in the aerospace sector, particularly within EASA or UK CAA maintenance, manufacturing, or design organizations.
- Valid UK driver's license.
- Eligibility to work in the UK, with applications accepted only from NATO-country passport holders.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- High standards of ethics and integrity.
- A flexible, positive, and dedicated team player committed to excellence.

The Aerospace Integration and Test team is led by an Executive General Manager and is responsible for the effective leadership and management of aerospace material production and maintenance functions.
