Job Title: Senior Sports Partnership Executive

Job Summary:

The Senior Sports Partnership Executive will work closely with the Sports Partnerships Manager and the wider Partnerships team to support JD's Sports sponsorship activity, focusing on commercial football agreements. The role will involve augmenting specific partner activation calendars, executing plans around key activity across all JD and partner channels, and ensuring that all marketing rights are utilized effectively and commercial opportunities are maximized.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Activation Calendar Management: Ownership of specific activation calendars to maximize Sports Sponsorships with a particular focus on commercial football partnerships.
  • Partnership Development: Continuously develop and refine partnership activation strategies through reviewing of our partnerships' impact.
  • Content Creation: Regular liaison with partners to identify key stories and opportunities to create activity that will help raise the profile of our partnerships.
  • Content Production: Ensure relevant content is being produced for use on JD platforms, JD social media, and all sponsor platforms with product relevance where possible.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work collaboratively across internal departments and stakeholders for partner approvals and alignment of programmes and initiatives, including with the retail marketing and activation teams.
  • Event Planning: Work with the JD Social and wider multi-Channel Teams on developing activity, competitions, and strategies that further promote partnership activity.
  • Community Engagement: Work with retail and the JD Marketing Team to identify opportunities for events and activations instore with a focus on local community engagement.
  • Product Seeding: Work with the relevant parties, including buying and merchandising, to assist in relevant product being seeded to the sponsored asset where relevant.
  • Imagery and Campaigns: Assist in activating photoshoots and relevant campaign imagery for sponsored assets alongside the creative team.
  • Awareness and Promotion: Work with the wider multi-channel team to ensure awareness of all other partnership activity is pushed through key channels and any opportunities for sponsored assets to assist in other campaigns are identified.
  • Association and Sales: Carry out strategies and campaign ideas that will help improve association and sales potentials through the use of our partnerships.
  • Press Coverage: Work with the PR team, and agencies where relevant, to execute opportunities for press coverage/access of our sponsored assets.
  • Reporting and Monitoring: Report back on all sponsorship activity and competitions to show the benefits and coverage obtained, including commercial results where relevant.
  • Competitor Analysis: Continually monitor relevant competitors and inspiration sources to report to the wider team.

Requirements:

  • Full and Clean Driving License: Required for the role.
  • Sports Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of Sports (primarily football) is key.
  • Partnership Experience: Experience of planning and activating partnership agreements is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Strong presentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Teamwork: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work as part of a growing team in a fast-moving environment.
  • Continuous Learning: A willingness to learn new skills.
  • Flexibility: A willingness to work out of hours and travel where necessary.
  • Industry Experience: Prior experience of working in Sports Marketing or Sports Marketing agencies is preferred but not essential.
