Job Title: Child and Educational Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Educational Psychologist to join our team at West Dunbartonshire Council.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term post until June 2025, and we are looking for a talented individual to support our team of educational psychologists in developing strategies to foster excellence and equity in education.

The successful candidate will have qualities and skills that will enable them to contribute to the five core tasks of a Psychological Service, including:

  1. To promote early intervention initiatives, including nurture and parenting
  2. To raise standards of attainment and achievement at all levels and support initiatives to close the poverty-related attainment gap
  3. To enhance collaborative approaches with partners
  4. To support the implementation of 'getting it right for every child' and the Early years expansion plan
  5. To develop strategies to support the team of educational psychologists

The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the development of strategies to support the team of educational psychologists and to work collaboratively with partners to promote excellence and equity in education.

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children/Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007, and as such, membership with the PVG scheme is essential.
