Barnardo's Child Bereavement Service is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Project Worker 2. This part-time, fixed-term role will focus on providing vital support to children, young people, and families navigating the challenging journey of bereavement.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals. You will work collaboratively with a dedicated team to deliver therapeutic interventions and build meaningful relationships with those affected by loss.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide compassionate and effective support to children, young people, and families experiencing bereavement.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapeutic plans tailored to the unique needs of each client.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care and support for clients.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with professional standards.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of our Child Bereavement Service.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:

You will possess a strong commitment to working with vulnerable individuals and a genuine desire to make a positive impact. We are seeking candidates who hold relevant qualifications such as:

  • Social Work (AYE completed)
  • Children's Therapy/Counselling (accredited or ready for accreditation)
  • Youth & Community Work
  • Art Therapy, or equivalent.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential. A strengths-based approach and the ability to work sensitively and effectively with individuals experiencing trauma are highly valued.
