Job Title: Senior Child Support Worker

Join SuperCare Residential as a Senior Child Support Worker and make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people. In this rewarding role, you will provide support and guidance to help them become more independent, succeed in their education, and grow personally in a safe and nurturing environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support to young people, including key working and daily care, on a shift work basis.
  • Collaborate with young people, their families, social workers, and other organizations to ensure their needs are met and their transition to adulthood is smooth.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and review Care Plans for allocated young people, preparing them for greater independence.
  • Take responsibility for the upkeep of the establishment, ensuring health and safety standards are met, and making autonomous decisions about individual young people's requests and behavior.
  • Conduct administrative tasks and record keeping associated with key working responsibilities and the daily running of the home.
  • Empower young people to take control of their lives, keeping them informed of their circumstances and rights, involving them in planning, and supporting them towards greater independence.
  • Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and report them effectively.
  • Attend to the daily needs of young people, including personal care and household responsibilities.
Household Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to maintaining the home, including practical activities and caring for the fabric, equipment, and environment.
  • Be accountable for allocated funds and report any necessary repairs.
Personal Development:
  • Act as a role model and guide for young people, setting principles and examples.
  • Stay up-to-date with good practice, developing skills, knowledge, and experience through regular supervision and personal development plans.
  • Report any malpractice or concerns to a line manager or appropriate person.
Additional Duties:
  • Perform other reasonable duties as requested by management.
  • Work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, on a rota basis as required.
  • Be flexible to work at other properties as directed by management.

At SuperCare Residential, we follow Safer Recruitment measures and require enhanced DBS checks before offering a placement. You will receive regular micro-training to perform your role to the best of your abilities. We encourage internal promotions and expect you to enter your Level 3 or Level 5 qualifications in an appropriate timescale.

Requirements:
  • Experience working with children/young people in an Ofsted environment.
  • Level 3 Diploma or above.
  • Enhanced DBS Check and on the update service.
  • Ability to drive.
  • Smart and agile to handle the daily needs and activities of young people.
