Event Coordinator Role at the University of Kent

As an Events Coordinator at the University of Kent, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional events and conferences that showcase our university's facilities and expertise. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of events, ensuring seamless delivery and maximum revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote and sell the University's facilities to event organizers, both internally and externally, through effective communication and marketing strategies.
  • Provide accurate information to other departments and stakeholders to ensure that client operational requirements are met and events run smoothly.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing of all events under your control, preparing and raising deposit and final invoices accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify revenue opportunities and develop strategies to maximize income.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external clients and stakeholders to promote the University's events and services.
Requirements:
  • GCSE Grade C/4 English and Maths or equivalent.
  • A formal qualification in Event Management, Hospitality, or Tourism (or equivalent).
  • Computer literacy and a good knowledge of Microsoft Office (or similar) and its various applications.
  • Experience of Event Coordination gained in a large-scale, high-volume conference or events-oriented hotel or venue.
  • The ability to plan, service, and project manage large-scale conferences and events independently.
