About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Community Learning Disability Team in West Dorset. As a key member of our team, you will provide psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment to adults with learning disabilities who have a range of psychological conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment to adults with learning disabilities
  • Assist with supervision to assistant psychologists and guide doctoral trainee clinical psychologists on placement
  • Develop and implement therapy packs, capacity assessments, and other initiatives to support adults with learning disabilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to adults with learning disabilities
Requirements
  • Post-graduate doctorate in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS or HCPC
  • Experience of clinical supervision for trainee and assistant clinical psychologists
  • Knowledge of legislation, white papers, and implications for clinical practice and professional management in relation to older adults and adults with learning disabilities
  • Membership of HCPC
  • Clinical experience with adults with learning disability diagnosis, particularly those in community placements
  • Experience of assessment and formulation in adults with an LD
  • Experience and formal training in at least 2 psychological therapies
  • Competent knowledge of neuropsychological testing
