About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Supervisor to join our Facilities Division - Estates Operations department at Lancaster University. As a key member of our Facilities Maintenance team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional maintenance services across our campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the operational implementation of mechanical skilled and semi-skilled work across campus.
  • Manage the issuing of prioritized mechanical works to your team and appointed contractors via our helpdesk / work management system.
  • Review and manage service performance against set service level requirements.
  • Offer practical technical support to the wider team in support of refurbishment projects, planned events, and operational needs.
  • Ensure the team remains trained, well briefed, and competent to work safely and effectively while meeting health and safety best practice standards.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A customer service focus and supportive attitude.
  • Clear and practical communication skills.
  • To be team-orientated and have a flexible approach to work.
  • To be proactive, performance-focused, and driven, looking for continued improvements across the areas you lead.
  • Sound knowledge and experience on mechanical maintenance work, across large, complex, and varied buildings.
