About the Role
We are seeking dedicated Mental Health Support Specialists to join our expanding team within the Student Counselling Service (SCS). This role offers both part-time and full-time opportunities, with a total of 3.5 full-time equivalent positions available.
Our Mental Health Advisory Service (MHAS) is comprised of Senior Mental Health Advisors and Mental Health Support Specialists who provide crucial support to students facing mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough triage, assessments, and risk formulations for students.
- Develop comprehensive care plans in collaboration with students and relevant stakeholders.
- Deliver individual and group sessions to support student well-being.
- Liaise effectively with internal university support systems and external mental health pathways.
- Participate actively in team meetings, case coordination, and professional development activities.
About You
We are looking for qualified professionals who possess a deep understanding of mental health and the unique needs of university students.
The ideal candidate will hold registration with a relevant professional body, such as:
- Mental Health Nurse
- Mental Health Occupational Therapist
- Mental Health Social Worker
- Clinical Psychologist
Your professional body should uphold a code of ethics, a complaints procedure, and require ongoing professional development to maintain accreditation.
