Job Description:

We are working with an outstanding Primary School who are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Upper KS2. The role involves working with pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour, requiring a resilient practitioner with excellent relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils in Upper KS2 with challenging behaviour and SEND on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner.
  • Building positive relationships with Class Teachers to support pupils and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities to promote pupil progress.
  • Stretching and challenging pupils of all ability levels.
  • Using a range of strategies to assess pupil progress.
  • Preparing resources for lessons.
  • Supervising pupils at break times and lunch times as required.

Requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you).
  • A minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature.
  • Experience of supporting pupils within a Primary School setting.
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education.
  • An enthusiastic approach and a willingness to engage with and form positive relationships with pupils.
