Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is working with an outstanding Primary School in North Shields who are seeking a qualified and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to start ASAP on either a full-time or part-time basis.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pupils in Upper KS2 with challenging behaviour and SEND on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. They will also be required to manage challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils in Upper KS2 with challenging behaviour and SEND on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner
  • Building positive relationships with Class Teachers to support pupils and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities to promote pupil progress
  • Stretching and challenging pupils of all ability levels
  • Using a range of strategies to assess pupil progress
  • Preparing resources for lessons
  • Supervising pupils at break times and lunch times as required
Requirements
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
  • A minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
  • Experience of supporting pupils within a Primary School setting
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils
  • A genuine passion for helping young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education
