Position Overview: Senior Risk Consultant

The Senior Risk Consultant will operate on a 12-hour shift pattern, engaging in a 4-day on, 4-day off rotation that alternates between day and night shifts.

This role is pivotal in delivering expert support, guidance, and oversight to a diverse portfolio of Control Risks clients globally. The consultant will engage directly with clients, offering comprehensive security assistance, risk monitoring, and timely updates, while also being prepared to address any immediate crises. This position is essential for fostering client retention and facilitating the growth of assigned accounts.

  • Client Engagement: Act as a primary advisor and liaison for Control Risks clients in high-pressure situations, managing security-related incidents and inquiries effectively.
  • Customized Security Strategies: Respond swiftly to client needs, providing tailored verbal and written security evaluations and recommendations based on a thorough understanding of their operations, ensuring proactive crisis management and coordination.
  • Intelligence and Risk Analysis: Gather, assess, and disseminate pertinent open-source and proprietary information, creating detailed threat intelligence reports and risk assessments. Monitor global developments and predict operational impacts for clients based on customized escalation protocols and risk registers.
  • Crisis Management Support: Assist Control Risks crisis management teams and evacuation operations by maintaining situational awareness of ongoing crises and identifying security providers to ensure rapid response and client safety.
  • Account Management: Serve as the primary contact for designated client accounts.
  • Client Retention and Development: Enhance client retention and growth through proactive account management, engagement analysis, and the identification of new service opportunities.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other duties as assigned, contributing to the ongoing improvement and success of our team and clients.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in international relations, political science, security studies, criminal justice, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 5 years in GSOCs, military, NGO, or corporate security operations (preferably 7 years of combined experience).
  • Crisis Management Skills: Proven ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in high-stress environments.
  • Global Awareness: Extensive knowledge of global geopolitical issues and the capacity to evaluate operational impacts across various sectors.
  • Analytical Proficiency: Strong capability in interpreting data sources, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Exceptional customer service abilities, with a strong emphasis on client satisfaction.
  • Collaborative Approach: Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to adjust communication styles to suit different audiences and cultures. Proficiency in Spanish or another foreign language is advantageous.
  • Adaptability: Ability to respond to changing requirements and adapt to unpredictable circumstances, demonstrating the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Security Expertise: Proven knowledge and experience in security risk assessments, physical security, or security operations and planning.
  • Discretion: Ability to act with discretion and apply company policies appropriately to inform decisions and actions.
