Position: English Language Teacher

Location: Dorset

Salary: £30,000 - £44,870 per annum

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Teaching Personnel is collaborating with a national SEN Trust to find a qualified Secondary English Teacher in the Dorset region. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching from Entry Level 2 to GCSE English, working with students who have ASC/SEMH needs, including autism and specific learning difficulties such as Dyslexia. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and delivery of the curriculum, considering the educational, physical, and social needs of students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Utilize short, medium, and long-term planning to effectively deliver the curriculum.
  • Establish, monitor, and review personalized learning targets for each student.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress to parents, team members, and senior staff in accordance with school policies.
  • Engage in professional development through training and research.

Qualifications:

  • PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification with evidence of in-service training.
  • Proven ability to teach English up to GCSE level.
  • Relevant experience with students with ASD, SEMH, and PDA profiles.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
  • Experience in managing diverse behavioral approaches, including challenging behaviors.
