About Us

Bright Horizons Bunnybrookes Day Nursery and Preschool is a reputable childcare centre in Cambridge, offering a nurturing environment for children to grow and develop. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Third in Charge to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and dedicated individual to lead, mentor, and inspire our team to deliver exceptional care and education to children. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Early Years education, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and carers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team to deliver high-quality care and education to children
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the day-to-day running of the nursery and management of safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents, and carers to meet the needs of each child
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy, and safe working environment
  • Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers to support retention and occupancy growth
  • Ensure commercial success of the nursery by maintaining expenditure inline with FTEs and budget KPIs

Requirements

  • Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
  • Previous experience working within an Early Years setting, ideally as a Third in Charge, Room Leader, or Early Years Educator
  • Confident decision maker with experience providing support and leadership to others
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and legislative requirements for working with children
  • Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with colleagues and parents
