Job Summary

Career Legal is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Employee Relations Advisor to join their team in their busy London office on a 12-month fixed-term contractual basis. As a Senior Employee Relations Advisor, you will work within the Employee Relations team, providing expert and accurate advice and guidance to partners, managers, and HR on a range of HR issues, including legislation and policy-related matters across the UK and EMEA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert and accurate advice and guidance to partners, managers, and HR on employee-related issues, including resolving complex and sensitive Employee Relation matters.
  • Manage and advise on redundancies/restructures, conduct and capability issues, and draft related documentation.
  • Advising on employee exits, drafting and advising on settlement agreements and related documentation.
  • Advising on the engagement of contractors/consultants and other temporary staff, including the legal issues surrounding IR35, the Agency Workers Regulations, and other worker rights.
  • Advising on the application of HR policies and processes, ensuring consistency of approach across the business.
  • Leading on the case management of all formal grievances and disciplinary processes across the UK, advising the relevant partners/managers and HR on the process and the legal requirement.
  • Providing support on various local, regional, and global projects, including organisational change, restructures/redundancies, regional/global policy initiatives, etc.
  • Proactively identifying changes and improvements to employment policy and practices.

Requirements

  • 3 years' HR experience, preferably within professional services, with a sound understanding of current employment legislation.
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills, with the ability to work in a high-pressured environment and make sound commercial decisions.
  • A CIPD qualification, full or in part, is advantageous.
  • Strong listening skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite skills.
  • A confident, proactive professional with an innovative and credible approach in dealing with sensitive matters.
