This is a new role established to support the Rheumatology team at Orpington Hospital. The post holder will work with the Principal Pharmacist for Planned Medicine and Rheumatology MDT to develop outpatient clinics and streamline processes for initiating and maintaining patients on biologics/targeted-synthetic small molecules.
Main Responsibilities:- Act as a specialist role model and expert in medical management within Rheumatology.
- Lead and manage clinical pharmacy services in Rheumatology in conjunction with the Principal Pharmacist.
- Participate regularly in outpatient clinics to deliver and promote high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-focused pharmaceutical care.
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds, delivering and promoting high-quality, cost-effective, patient-focused pharmaceutical care.
- Promote safe drug use within the Rheumatology specialty.
- Develop, implement, and audit local guidelines.
- Regular financial reporting, drug usage, and expenditure forecasting, and drug budget management.
- Participate in practice and clinical research and audit.
