About the Role:

Southwark Council is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a School Crossing Patrol Officer. As a key member of our community, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of children and vulnerable individuals as they cross the road around schools during peak hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with children, adults, and other road users to maintain a safe and orderly crossing environment.
  • Operate at authorized crossing locations, adhering to strict guidelines set by Southwark Council and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
  • Communicate effectively with all road users, promoting correct and safe behavior when operating at the crossing.

About You:

We are looking for someone who is happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions, able to work with both adults and children, and possesses a good understanding of road safety and safeguarding principles.

What We Offer:

As a School Crossing Patrol Officer with Southwark Council, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on your community, working one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon during school term time. Job share arrangements will be considered where practical.
