Product Consultant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Consultant to join our team at NEC Software Solutions. As a Product Consultant, you will be responsible for managing a set of products or product lines over their life cycle, from ideation to development, launch, sale, and discontinuance.
You will interface between the market and the product team during development, representing the voice of the customer. This role is to lead the future product evolution for DIR and DEM Products, and you will be supported and mentored by the Head of Product Management.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn and develop as a product manager. The ideal candidate will be in their early career within the industry.
Key Responsibilities- Identify potential products for the Safety sector and conduct market research to develop suitable product strategy documentation.
- Generate product requirements at Roadmap and EPIC levels, determining specification, product life cycles, pricing, and time-integrated plans.
- Ensure that products maximise revenue opportunities in terms of modularity, allowing for deployment at a range of price points and upselling additional capabilities over time.
- Develop marketing strategies in collaboration with the marketing team and arrange, book, and run user groups.
- Maintain the User Community, ensuring regular product communications are shared to keep people excited and engaged.
- Proactively manage the Product Lifecycle, communicating it regularly to the company and customers.
- Build relationships with NEC Software Solutions colleagues to ensure that, where appropriate, our products are capable of being joined up at both business process and technological levels.
- Understand technology and keep abreast with the latest technology, researching competitors, relevant products, market trends, and regularly updating the product strategy to meet the best commercial outcome.
- A demonstrable track record of working in the safety sector.
- Ability to hold an audience of customers, technical people, partners, and colleagues fully engaged and excited in furthering the product strategy and delivery.
- Product insight, ideas that inform direction and prioritisation.
- Commercially savvy, able to conduct accurate return on investment calculations to steer the products and deliver desired commercial outcomes.
- Excellent research skills, researching competitors, markets, customers, requirements, and using it to inform the very best product strategies that lead to market leadership and commercial growth.
- Decision maker, able to make tough decisions in the best interests of the product, market, customer, and company.
