About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a senior member of our ophthalmic department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our clinics and providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test vision, intraocular pressure, and visual fields using various equipment, including autorefractors and ophthalmic imaging devices.
  • Mentor and support junior staff members in the ophthalmic technician team.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of ophthalmic services and protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

  • GCSE in Maths and English, NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and procedures.
