About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a senior member of our ophthalmic department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our clinics and providing high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Test vision, intraocular pressure, and visual fields using various equipment, including autorefractors and ophthalmic imaging devices.
  • Mentor new staff within the ophthalmic technician team and contribute to the development of our clinical services.
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive and excellent ophthalmic service.

Requirements

  • GCSE in Maths and English, NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Experience with ophthalmology clinics and knowledge of outpatient services.
