Central Recruitment Services Ltd is currently recruiting for a Project Worker to join our team in the Greenwich area. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing housing support to young people who are owed a housing duty by the local authority.
Job Summary:The Project Worker will work 37.5 hours per week, covering hour shifts between 8AM - 10:30PM, on a rota basis, including 3 out of 6 weekends. The pay rate is £16.24 per hour, with £1.75 holiday pay.
Key Responsibilities:- Hold a caseload of 9 young people and undertake regular key working sessions to develop co-produced support and safety plans.
- Produce comprehensive risk assessments and risk management plans.
- Assess referrals to the project to ensure suitable young people can be accepted.
- Provide a safe and welcoming environment for young people, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed about the building and local services.
- Assess the needs of young people to identify suitable move-on accommodation.
- Minimise risk to young people by identifying, reporting, and following up on safeguarding concerns and incidents.
- Work with social workers to enable young people to move back home or support them to move on through the social housing nomination scheme.
- Support young people to maximise benefit entitlements and secure project income.
- Run activities and support young people to participate in activities to prepare them for independence.
- Provide support to young people who are ready to move into work, education, or training.
- Work in partnership with internal departments and external community agencies to ensure client needs are met.
- Experience of working with young people.
- Knowledge of Ofsted's key principles for young people in supported accommodation.
- Understanding and experience of applying effective ways of working with young people, particularly those with mental health and attachment needs.
- Experience of working in a trauma-informed and attachment-focused way.
- Ability to demonstrate how 'Every Child Matters' relates to the young people living in our accommodation.
- Excellent numeracy, literacy, and comprehension of welfare benefits for under 21's, rents, and service charges.
- Ability to use own initiative, be motivated, and engage with service users.
- Current valid right to work in the UK.
- Minimum 12 months' experience in a front-line social care role within the last 3 years.
- Fully enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one through Central.
- Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years, verifiable through the referencing process.
