Position Overview

The Autism Diagnostic Team operates during standard business hours, Monday to Friday, and is dedicated to providing comprehensive support across the region. The role requires the ability to travel independently.

As a member of a growing and nurturing team, you will collaborate with various professionals, including Clinical Leads, Team Coordinators, Office Managers, Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists, among others.

Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including assisting with diagnostic evaluations, managing a caseload of follow-up work for both group and individual sessions, participating in team discussions, and contributing to collaborative projects. The focus of this position is to aid individuals in understanding their Autism or related challenges through assessment, formulation, and educational support.

Additionally, there are opportunities to engage in psychological consultations, staff training, and other developmental activities.

You will receive guidance and support from the Clinical Lead or Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist, ensuring that team responsibilities are shared equitably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist assessors in conducting diagnostic evaluations that comply with established guidelines.
  • Provide individual assessments and short-term therapeutic interventions for adults diagnosed with autism.
  • Support the psychological assessment process by utilizing various testing methods, self-report tools, and structured observations.
  • Communicate complex and sensitive information with empathy, using language suitable for the client demographic.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver educational sessions on understanding Autism for clients and their families.
  • Effectively navigate emotionally charged environments, demonstrating sensitivity and empathy in challenging situations.
  • Contribute to projects aimed at evaluating and enhancing current services.
  • Participate in research initiatives, including literature reviews, questionnaire design, data collection, and analysis.
