Faversham, Kent, United Kingdom We Are With You Full time

Position Overview

We Are With You is a prominent national charity dedicated to delivering evidence-based assistance for mental health, substance use, and family services throughout the UK. Our mission is to genuinely impact individuals' lives by offering complimentary therapy to those in need. This position is for a Lead Psychological Wellbeing Specialist to become part of our Kent Talking Therapies initiative.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will deliver high-volume, low-intensity interventions focused on self-management strategies for clients experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and depression, while ensuring confidentiality is upheld at all times. The successful candidate will engage in a variety of tasks and responsibilities, including conducting client-centered interviews, staying informed on new guidelines and recommendations, and participating in the recruitment and onboarding of new Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs). A significant aspect of this role involves providing case management for both qualified and trainee PWPs, collaborating closely with team members to ensure effective step-up and step-down processes are in place to maintain a stepped care model. You will also be responsible for assessing the appropriateness of services for new referrals, adhering to established referral protocols, and continuously ensuring that the service remains accessible by disseminating information effectively.

About Our Organization

At We Are With You, we believe that everyone should feel at ease seeking support for issues related to drugs, alcohol, or mental health. We collaborate with individuals to help them achieve their personal goals, whether that involves maintaining safety and health, making incremental changes, or overcoming unwanted habits. Our services are provided in a manner that suits each individual, whether in-person at local facilities, within the community, or online. We offer a free and confidential service without judgment to over 100,000 individuals annually. Our expertise is utilized to enhance available support and raise awareness regarding drugs, alcohol, and mental health, ensuring that more individuals can access the help they need.

Role Expectations

Are you a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner eager to join a values-driven, innovative charity that prioritizes the wellbeing of its PWPs and champions clinical excellence at step 2? To gain insights from current PWPs about why We Are With You is an exceptional workplace, you can view recordings of our PWP Careers Events and explore our Candidate Pack. We are committed to empowering our Senior PWPs to reach their full potential by offering the following:

  • Comprehensive clinical and case management supervision, including four weekly reflective practice groups and additional ad hoc supervision, exceeding the National Talking Therapies recommended standards.
  • A supportive Step 2 Clinical Lead team that advocates for clinical excellence and integrates therapist feedback into service improvements.
  • Access to a high-quality monthly Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program covering various topics, including refreshers on key PWP interventions and working with clients from neurodivergent and LGBTQI+ communities.
  • Opportunities for career advancement, such as training in Long-Term Conditions or PWP supervision, becoming a Champion, or applying for roles like Step 2 Manager or Step 2 Clinical Lead.
  • Participation in interface meetings with Secondary Care services to enhance the client journey.
  • Coverage of annual fees for your BABCP registration as an added benefit.
  • Consideration of flexible working arrangements, regardless of service length, which may include condensed work patterns or adjusted hours to accommodate personal responsibilities.

Employee Benefits

We want you to enjoy coming to work, feeling fulfilled, valued, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Therefore, we emphasize the aspects that matter most to you. Here are some of the excellent benefits we provide:

  • 28 days of annual leave, in addition to bank holidays.
  • An extra day off for your birthday or a special occasion of your choice.
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.
  • Two days of paid volunteer leave each year.
  • Automatic enrollment in We Are With You's pension scheme.
  • Access to a Blue Light Card, offering significant savings on major high-street and online brands.
  • Flexible working opportunities and access to various services and resources to support your wellbeing.
  • An excellent Refer a Friend scheme, providing a £500 bonus for successful recommendations, applicable after the referred friend completes their six-month probation period.

Additional Information

This is a permanent, part-time position requiring 30 hours per week. The role will primarily be home-based, with travel within Kent necessary for in-person client engagements, team training, and meetings.

Diversity Commitment

As an organization, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices and experiences of our staff. We recognize that representing the communities we serve is essential to achieving our goals of significantly improving people's lives. We welcome the unique contributions you can bring and encourage individuals from underrepresented communities and backgrounds to apply to join our team, including those with lived experience, disabilities, individuals from racialized communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and armed forces veterans.

Qualifications

Essential

  • To be eligible for this role, you must have training in CBT-based low-intensity interventions and hold BABCP or BPS accreditation (or be eligible to obtain the accreditation).
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide three years of references and, where applicable, undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Experience

Essential

  • We seek an individual with prior experience conducting mental health assessments and working with clients facing anxiety and depression within a Talking Therapies service. You should excel in analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrate leadership across the service.
