About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group as a Senior Medical Laboratory Assistant in Molecular Pathology. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the leadership and management of the laboratory, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient outcomes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, stakeholders, and external partners to promote the laboratory's services and reputation.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse or Registered Healthcare Professional with relevant experience in a leadership or management role.
- Proven track record of operational service management in an acute hospital setting, including staff management, resource management, and change management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Good understanding of the changing NHS environment and evidence of change management.
Desirable Criteria
- Master's level qualification in a relevant field.
- Clear and demonstrable evidence of advanced, autonomous practice in the management of patients/service users.
- Learning and Assessing in Practice Qualification or equivalent practice assessors training.
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience of leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to enthuse, motivate, and involve individuals and teams.
- Evidence of proactive involvement in the supervision and development of members of the multidisciplinary team and able to demonstrate changes of practice through these.
- Able to demonstrate wide knowledge of health and social care policy and its application in practice and evidence of developing involvement in influencing local and national standards.
- Experience of interdisciplinary working and able to demonstrate innovation and effective use of resources.
- Able to demonstrate involvement in policy and practice change.
