Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Porter and Security Officer to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a safe and efficient service to all wards and departments within the hospitals, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and replace gas cylinders in all areas to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collect and deliver Pharmacy boxes from wards and departments for restocking and distribution.
  • Respond to requests to move furniture and equipment, and change medical gas cylinders in a safe and prompt manner.
  • Deliver and collect blood products, laboratory specimens, and samples to and from wards/pathology using an electronic recording system.
  • Respond to alarm activations, security incidents, and emergency calls to all Trust buildings and grounds.
Person Specification
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Current full driving license.
  • Good general standard of education up to and including GCSE English and Math A-C level or equivalent.
  • Experience in a Porter, security, or Caretaking type role.
