Custody Nurse/Paramedic Job Description

As a Custody Nurse/Paramedic with Root-10 Limited, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare services to patients in custody. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake clinical assessments and provide a high standard of clinical care for patients in custody.
  • Manage minor illnesses and injuries, and refer patients to more specialized services as needed.
  • Conduct forensic examinations of patients in custody, including collecting DNA evidence and recording injuries.
  • Work with police officers and staff to provide medical care and support.
  • Collect specimens as required under legislation.
  • Provide written statements and oral testimony in court as required.
  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
  • Assess alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal, and undertake mental health and learning disability assessments as needed.
Requirements:
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a car for work purposes.
  • 3 years of nursing experience in A&E, ITU, EAU, SAU, or other relevant areas.
  • Leadership course or qualification desirable.
  • Ability to work closely with team members and external parties to review patient care.
