Special Needs Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Assistant to join our team at a mainstream school in Harrow. The successful candidate will work closely with a child with Autism in Year 2, providing support and assistance to ensure their academic and personal success.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individualized support to the child with Autism, adapting to their unique needs and requirements.
- Assist the teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities, ensuring the child's engagement and participation.
- Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social skills and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and psychologists to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers, keeping them informed of the child's progress and any concerns.
- Experience working with students with special needs, personal experience or relevant degree (Psychology, Health and Social Care, Speech and Language).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, staff, and parents.
- Patience, understanding, and a willingness to adapt to the child's needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the child and the school.
- Right to work in the UK and experience working in the UK.
