Job Description

Job Title: Carers Development Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Carers Development Specialist to join our team at Local Solutions. As a Carers Development Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting unpaid carers to access practical and emotional support, empowering them to take control of their own health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support carers through the Carers Assessment process, visiting them in their own homes or elsewhere to offer support.
  • Complete Carers Support Plans with carers using a person-centred approach.
  • Provide carers with information on the range of services available for carers and how to access them.
  • Liaise with colleagues in statutory services to ensure seamless support for carers.
  • Develop and sustain links with partnership organisations to encourage collaborative working to support unpaid carers.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and practical support in the implementation of support packages.
  • Support the collation, analysis, and reporting on opportunities for organisational learning on Carers project.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in health or social care.
  • Experience of supporting unpaid carers or working with people.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, prioritise own workload, and manage own diary.
  • Technical expertise in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Check and mandatory safeguarding training.
  • Travel required, with a car owner/driver essential for this city-wide post.
