About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in one of our excellent SEN provisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with varied SEND and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Manage challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner.
  • Build positive relationships with Class Teachers to support pupils and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities to promote pupil progress.
  • Supervise pupils at break times and lunch times as required.
  • Have a 'hands-on' approach to supporting pupils in their learning, with a willingness to interact, engage, and form a positive rapport with pupils.
Requirements
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service, but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you).
  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification, Level 3 ideally, although Level 2 will also be considered.
  • Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant within Schools in the UK.
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people to fulfill their potential and flourish in education.
  • An enthusiastic approach and a willingness to engage with and form positive relationships with pupils.
