Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmaceutical Production Specialist to become a vital member of our Pharmacy division within the Cytotoxic Chemotherapy Production Unit. This role involves collaborating with a team of skilled professionals committed to formulating, preparing, and aseptically compounding essential medications for patients in need.

The ideal candidate will hold a recognized qualification as a Science Technician or be a registered Pharmacy Technician. Candidates lacking the necessary credentials must possess substantial experience in production and demonstrate a willingness to pursue the Science Manufacturing Technician course to meet the job requirements.

Key Responsibilities

This multifaceted role encompasses the processing and manufacturing of a diverse array of sterile medications, including chemotherapy and investigational medicinal products for clinical trial participants. The position demands adaptability and the ability to meet tight deadlines while addressing patient and customer needs. Successful candidates will demonstrate the capacity to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage workloads effectively, whether independently or as part of a larger team.

We are looking for proactive individuals with strong IT, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. The role requires proficiency in all aspects of pharmaceutical manufacturing, including:

  • Aseptic dispensing and preparation of investigational medicinal products.
  • Operating within specialized cleanroom environments using advanced equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Level 2 Qualification in Pharmacy Support Services or an equivalent qualification in Pharmacy Production.
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire new skills and work to established competency levels.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with GPhC or as a Registered Science Manufacturing Technician (RSciTech).
  • Level 3 Diploma in Aseptic Pharmaceuticals Processing.
  • Completion of an aseptic dispensing course.

Experience Requirements

Essential Experience

  • Experience in sterile production environments.
  • Ability to accurately dispense aseptic products in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
