Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist to lead our clinical trials pharmacy service. As a Specialist Clinical Trials Pharmacist, you will be responsible for managing and delivering a high-quality pharmacy service for clinical trials at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of clinical trials pharmacy practices.
  • Provide expert advice on clinical trials to pharmacy staff, clinicians, and research teams.
  • Manage and coordinate the pharmacy aspects of clinical trials, including IMP supply and trial maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of clinical trials protocols and pharmaceutical aspects of the protocol.
  • Collaborate with research teams and clinicians to ensure timely appraisal, costing, and pharmacy approval for clinical trials.
  • Provide education and training to pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals on clinical trials and pharmaceutical aspects of the protocol.
  • Contribute to the development of business plans and departmental strategies to improve clinical trials pharmacy services.
Requirements
  • Pharmacist registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or relevant experience.
  • Experience of clinical trials pharmacy service delivery and management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and make effective decisions.
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and pharmaceutical aspects of clinical trials.
Working Arrangements

This is a full-time post, working 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to participate in weekend and bank holiday rotas.
