Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist to lead our clinical trials pharmacy service. As a Specialist Clinical Trials Pharmacist, you will be responsible for managing and delivering a high-quality pharmacy service for clinical trials at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of clinical trials pharmacy practices.
  • Provide expert advice on clinical trials to pharmacy staff, clinicians, and research teams.
  • Manage and coordinate the pharmacy aspects of clinical trials, including IMP supply and trial maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with research teams, clinicians, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Contribute to the development of business plans and departmental strategies to support the growth of clinical trials services.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, including pharmacists and technicians, to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support clinical trials.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of education and training programs for pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Pharmacist registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or relevant experience.
  • Experience of working in a clinical trials environment, including IMP supply and trial maintenance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinicians, research teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex clinical trial data.
Working Arrangements

This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the service.
