Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist to lead our clinical trials pharmacy service. As a Specialist Clinical Trials Pharmacist, you will be responsible for managing and delivering a high-quality pharmacy service for clinical trials at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of clinical trials pharmacy practices.
  • Provide expert advice on clinical trials to pharmacy staff, clinicians, and research teams.
  • Manage and coordinate the pharmacy aspects of clinical trials, including IMP supply and trial maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with research teams, clinicians, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of clinical trials services.
  • Contribute to the development of business plans and departmental strategies to expand clinical trials services.
  • Supervise and train junior staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and pre-registration pharmacists.
  • Participate in the provision of a high-quality clinical pharmacy service to wards and clinics.
Requirements
  • BPharm/BSc or MPharm/MSc or equivalent.
  • Current GPhC registration.
  • Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or relevant postgraduate experience.
  • Awareness of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Experience of specialist clinical pharmacy service delivery.
  • Knowledge of clinical trials service delivery in pharmacy, clinical trial appraisal, set-up, IMP supply, and trial maintenance.
  • Strong, accurate, and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate with senior clinicians, managers, and key stakeholders.
Working Arrangements

This is a full-time post, working 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to participate in weekend, bank holiday, and senior back-up working rotas.
