About the Role

Are you enthusiastic about fundraising and eager to support a vibrant program of artistic events, educational activities, and community engagement?


We are looking for a Development Assistant to become part of the Barbican's Development team, which is tasked with generating revenue from various sources, including donations, grants, patronage, sponsorship, and corporate memberships.


This position presents an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to enhance their fundraising expertise while contributing to the operations of a dynamic multi-arts venue during a pivotal phase of organizational change.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, capable of navigating multiple systems while prioritizing and managing various projects concurrently.

This role will provide comprehensive support across the full spectrum of fundraising activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Supporter CRM database (Spektrix)
  • Oversee Gift Administration
  • Facilitate Audience Giving fundraising initiatives
  • Handle Office Management tasks
  • Conduct Reporting and Insight analysis
  • Ensure Data Governance and Compliance


This operational support is crucial for the success of the Development Department and plays a significant role in the growth and achievements of an ambitious fundraising team.

This position is essential for providing efficient administrative support to the Development team, ensuring high standards of donor relations and event assistance.

The post holder will collaborate closely with the Development team, delivering donor and event-related administrative support for fundraising programs across the department.

This role is part of a growing team within a vibrant institution, offering ample opportunities to shape new processes that contribute to financial growth in support of an ambitious and exciting future.


The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills, coupled with a creative mindset, to successfully execute a variety of high-level administrative tasks.
