Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our team. As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by planning and delivering engaging activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a range of activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents, including arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, and social events.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, their families, and our care team to ensure that their needs are met and their preferences are respected.
  • Collaborate with our care team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote the wellbeing and independence of our residents.
  • Contribute to the creation of a warm and welcoming environment that promotes social interaction, engagement, and a sense of community among our residents.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a care setting, preferably in a role that involves planning and delivering activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Knowledge of dementia care and the ability to adapt activities to meet the needs of residents with dementia.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

What We Offer

  • A competitive hourly rate of £12.00.
  • A contracted hours of 16-24 hours per week.
  • A comprehensive pension scheme.
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro-rata).
