Shift Maintenance Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Lutterworth. As a site-based maintenance engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful maintenance of the site through both planned and reactive maintenance.

About the Role:

As a Shift Maintenance Engineer, you will work alongside a team of 4 shift engineers to maintain the site's equipment and facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all building and maintenance schedules are met, either by the in-house engineering team or through organizing subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Utilize an electronic maintenance scheduler to select, carry out, and sign off planned maintenance.
  2. Ensure all building and maintenance schedules are met, either by the in-house engineering team or through organizing subcontractors.
  3. Maintain areas of the site with additional ad-hoc project work (power/data/plumbing).
  4. Oversee and assume responsibility for any specialist contractors on site, ensuring they work safely and to a high standard.
  5. Oversee and maintain the conveyor systems using the on-site SCADA, including dealing with any jams or issues, as well as mechanical and/or electrical fault finding and subsequent repairs.
Requirements:
  1. Electrically biased - There is no need for 18th Edition, but it is expected that you will carry some form of official electrical training.
  2. Mechanical maintenance experience.
  3. Experienced within site and automation maintenance (ideally conveyors).
  4. Computer literate and comfortable recording activities and updating the engineers on the opposite shift.
  5. Monday to Friday role.
  6. Overtime and on call at enhanced rates.
  7. 33 days holiday per year (25 + 8 Bank Holiday).
  8. Contributory pension scheme.
