Mental Health Practitioner

This is an exciting opportunity to join NELFT North East London Foundation Trust as a Mental Health Practitioner in Primary Care. The successful candidate will be part of a team that provides mental health support to children and young people in Primary Care Networks (PCNs) across Kent and Medway.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality mental health care in Primary Care settings, bridging the gap between Primary Care and Secondary Mental Health services.
- Work autonomously and creatively in a busy and demanding role, requiring excellent assessment skills and knowledge of local services.
- Act as a gatekeeper and guardian for referral to secondary services, ensuring that individuals receive the right level of care and support.
- Registered mental health professional (NMC, HCPC, etc.) appropriate to the job role.
- Sound knowledge and skills of Evidence-Based Practice in relation to Children's MH and emotional wellbeing.
- Good communication skills and ability to work both within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and independently.
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience working in CAMHS or equivalent service, with complex cases.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the relationship between primary and secondary care services, as well as knowledge of key legislation and guidelines in relation to statutory mental health responsibilities. They will also have experience of working in a community mental health setting and be familiar with the stepped care model of delivery of psychological therapies.
