Mitie is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team in a 3rd shift and weekends role. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for protecting our customer's property, people, and assets by providing security services in accordance with the site's published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.
  • Complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).
  • Proactively review the published Assignment Instructions to familiarize yourself with any changes and suggest additional amendments to improve or enhance the current level of service.
  • Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
  • Follow directions and procedures appropriately.
  • Work in a systematic, methodical, and orderly way.

Training and Development

  • Complete all required competency training.
  • Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
  • Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
  • Renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.

Security and Health & Safety

  • Identify and report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
  • Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss, or damage.
  • Use common sense and initiative to involve others if a situation appears to become threatening.
  • Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
  • Complete accurate and detailed notebook entries after any incident, which can be used as part of the Incident Report process.
  • Keep to schedules and demonstrate responsibility to Mitie and the Client.
  • Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).

  • Previous Security Experience (recommended)
  • SIA License (required)
  • Full UK drivers licence (required)
