About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Forecasting and Stock Planner to join our Electrical category team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to work their way up to Category Manager with strong numerical skills, a great eye for product, and a desire to work across the analytical and core Merchandising side of the role.

As a Forecasting and Stock Planner, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and delivering commercial range plans, in-season forecasting, and stock management strategies.
  • Managing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as stock efficiency, maximum availability, and customer delivery promise.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and brands to manage over/under performance.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including logistics, supply chain, trading, and supplier management.
  • Analyzing sales performance and recommending contingency plans to adjust forecasts accordingly.

You will also have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of the stock plan and create line-level forecasts by week with the correct phasing.
  • Support the Category Manager with analysis and insight to develop range plans.
  • Oversee production planning, stock phasing, and delivery schedule management.
  • Develop a fit-for-purpose promotional plan that meets the needs of the budget, creative expression requirements, and merchandising of the range.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong management and leadership skills to coach and develop a team of category assistants.
  • Confident management of a large supply base with the ability to deputize for the Category Manager when required.
  • Trading-focused with a strong analytical mindset and ability to interpret data to drive P&L efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Experience in merchandising, WSSI management, and forecasting.
